To get MDS admission in deemed universities, candidates must qualify NEET MDS, complete their BDS degree along with the compulsory one-year rotating internship, and participate in MCC counselling for seat allotment. Admission is conducted through centralized MCC counselling based on NEET MDS rank, quota, choice filling, and seat availability.
MDS stipend in India ranges from ₹2,000 to ₹53,000 per month, depending on the college type, state, and academic year. In government dental colleges, MDS stipend ranges from ₹3,083 to ₹13,195 per month. In deemed dental colleges, MDS stipend ranges from ₹2,000 to ₹53,000 per month.
According to DCI, there are a total of 7,357 MDS seats in India across 276 DCI-approved dental colleges. Of these, 42 Government dental colleges offer 977 MDS seats, 200 Private dental colleges offer 5,267 MDS seats, and 34 Deemed dental universities offer 1,113 MDS seats. This reflects a 2.5% increase in total MDS seats compared to the previous year.
