According to the National Dental Commission (NDC), India has 27,966 BDS seats across 319 NDC-approved dental colleges.

Out of these, 56 Government dental colleges offer 4,096 BDS seats. 229 Private dental colleges offer 20,580 BDS seats. 34 Deemed dental universities offer 3,290 BDS seats.
